According to WindowsLatest, the change was made last week, with the app’s description now reflecting these changes: “This app lets you set up and control your Cortana-enabled devices, including the Surface Headphones and Harmon Kardon Invoke,” it reads. “The Cortana Device setup app will also help you connect your music.” The app lets users customize their headphones to change the default language, make equalizer adjustments, and perform updates. You’re also able to access the serial number and other information in case you need it at a later date.
A Pleasant Surprise
The Surface Headphones were a pleasant surprise for pretty much everyone, with few expecting Microsoft to release an audio device. They have some interesting features such as twistable ears for noise cancellation and volume, swipe controls, and, auto-pause. Unfortunately, reviews for the headphones were somewhat mixed. Some loved the design, some hated it. Some thought the audio was great, others, not so much. Most agree that the headphones lean towards the bassier side, with little to talk about in the high frequencies. The ability to adjust the mix with Cortana Device Setup could remedy those complaints somewhat, though there’s only so far you can push the hardware inside. Either way, Surface Headphone owners can grab the latest version of the app from the Microsoft Store.
